The Thessaloniki International Fair is a very important event that gathers together many stakeholders, including government officials, business leaders, industry experts, and international organizations, fostering collaboration and promoting economic growth. It serves as a platform for showcasing innovative products, technological advancements, and new business opportunities, while also facilitating networking and discussions on key global and regional challenges. The fair plays a pivotal role in strengthening trade relations, attracting foreign investments, and highlighting Greece’s strategic position as a hub for commerce and innovation in Southeastern Europe.
RAMONES project is joining the International Fair 2024 in Greece! There, our WP6 Leader Eleni Petra presented the project’s scientific objectives and achievements to a large number of people participating in the expo. The marine radioactiivity monitoring using state-of-the-art technology is a hot issue that needs to be enhanced not only in Greece but all around the world. This initiative aims to raise awareness about the importance of safeguarding marine environments from radioactive contaminants, promote international collaboration, and encourage the adoption of advanced technologies in marine monitoring efforts to ensure environmental and public health protection globally.
Moreover, our representative joined the workshop “The prospect and challenge of new small nuclear reactors on land and at sea” presented by the Greek Atomic Energy Commission. The RAMONES project is an Environmental Intelligence project that is increasingly relevant with the development of new small nuclear reactors. These reactors, while promising for their efficiency and scalability, present unique challenges in terms of potential radioactive contamination. The state-of-the-art technologies utilized by the RAMONES project are essential for monitoring and mitigating the environmental impact of such nuclear advancements, ensuring the safety of both marine ecosystems and coastal communities.
