Ready to go!

The RAMONES glider is ready to sail to Santorini, Greece, for the experiments of the final stage of the project! The development of both hardware and software was a collaborative effort between partners IST (Portugal), NTUA (Greece), Evologics (Germany), and PLOATECH (Spain), spanning almost four years. Following successful water trials in Castelo de Bode dam, Portugal, included operational tests, controlled maneuvering using the Backseat Driver interface, and communications with an autonomous surface vehicle using the RAMONES system architecture, the glider is now prepared to conduct radioactivity monitoring tests in the mysterious waters of Santorini volcano!

So we are ready to roam the oceans!
