The RAMONES Hackathon at the NKUA Department of Physics on 5-12-24 was a huge success! The four competing teams comprised of students and young researchers excelled in various thematic areas, giving their best and creating very interesting presentations related to the challenges: Visualizing marine radioactivity data at a global or local scale, forecasting radioactivity based on existing or simulated time series of data, forecasting seismic data based on historic and online data, and visualizing environmental data from the marine environment. The teams greatly collaborated to produce innovative ideas and interesting solutions!
The winners are:
The Radiohead team emerged as the winner!
The Anonymous team came in second place
The ‘Tzimania’ and the Uniq Ternary, tied for third place
The Hackathon was jointly organized by the MSc Program in “Electronics and Radioelectrology, and Control and Computing”, the MSc Program “Applied Physics” and the MSc Program “General Physics”.
We would like to thank all the participants and the mentors! A huge thank to the Evaluation Committee and the Organizing Committee for their valuable advises and the final results and the whole organization held at the Department of Physics of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens!
