IST-ID, the ”Organization of the Instituto Superior Técnico for Research and Development” (http://ist-id.pt/en/), is a private not-for-profit organization dedicated to research and development activity in Information and Communication Technologies, including Aerial and Marine Robotics. IST-ID has a large participation of the Instituto Superior Técnico (IST, https://tecnico.ulisboa.pt/en/), the leading school of engineering in Portugal, part of the Univ. Lisbon, Portugal. IST hosts the Institute for Systems and Robotics (ISR/IST, http://welcome.isr.tecnico.ulisboa.pt/) a Center of Excellence where the R&D planned in the scope of the project will be undertaken. ISR/IST promotes advanced multidisciplinary R&D in the areas of networked autonomous systems (land, marine, and space vehicles), automation and control, signal and image processing, intelligent robots and systems, and communications, with a strong emphasis on experimental field work.
